Dr. Lillian Barra is an Associate Professor at Western University's Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, with cross-appointments in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, and the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She is affiliated with the Lawson Health Research Institute in London, Ontario.

Dr. Barra specializes in the pathogenesis of chronic autoimmune vascular diseases, particularly rheumatoid arthritis (RA)-associated cardiovascular disease and systemic vasculitis. Her research integrates translational approaches (humanized mouse models of RA and atherosclerosis), biomarker studies, evidence synthesis, and participation in local, national, and international cohort studies.
She established the first interdisciplinary vasculitis clinic (IVASC) in Southwestern Ontario and serves on the administrative board for CanVasc, a national vasculitis research and education network. Her work aligns with research clusters in Clinical Epidemiology, Evidence Synthesis, and Chronic Disease & Multimorbidity.
