Davina Wright

Davina Wright is a Lecturer in Theatre at the School of Creative Arts and Media, University of Tasmania. She is an award-winning site-specific artist and artistic director of Gold Satino, a queer feminist performance collective. Her work explores themes of feminism, loneliness, and social issues through immersive and nonlinear theatre. She has taught at tertiary institutions, including La Trobe University, and collaborates with organizations like Terrapin Puppet Theatre.

Research interests include site-responsive performance, queer performance, and the intersection of performance with community engagement. Her recent projects include Thnx 4 Nothing (exploring teenage pregnancy and housing crises) and a site-specific work in Mornington with Dr. Meredith Rogers.

She has received multiple accolades, including Green Room Awards and Adelaide Fringe Awards. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes student-centered approaches, valuing diverse perspectives and inclusive environments.

Current projects include collaborations with Singapore's The Finger Players and ongoing work with young people in performance initiatives.
