Davina Höll is a Research Associate (Assistant Professor) and Coordinator of the Certificate "Gender and Diversity" at the Center for Gender and Diversity Research at the University of Tübingen since 2024. She also holds a lectureship at the English Department of the University of Tübingen and is an Associate Member at the Obama Institute for Transnational American Studies at the University of Mainz. Her work bridges medical humanities, environmental humanities, and Gothic studies through interdisciplinary lenses.

Her research explores intersectional perspectives on pandemics, microbiome ethics, and transnational literature through projects like "Troubled Waters - Fluid Knowledges: Indigenous Ecocritical Approaches towards Epistemologies of Water in Times of Climate Change" (2024-present) and "The Popular Microbiome" (2021-2023). She integrates microbial and Gothic aesthetics into broader societal and environmental ethics frameworks.
Recent publications examine microbial relational values, pandemic injustice in 19th-century literature, and multispecies knowledge translation. Her work engages with planetary health humanities, medical Gothic media, and ethical dimensions of microbiome research.
