Davin Raiha is an Associate Teaching Professor in the Department of Economics at the University of Notre Dame and a Faculty Fellow with the Fitzgerald Institute for Real Estate. He holds an adjunct role as Research Professor at the University of Western Ontario. His expertise bridges economics, public policy, and business strategy with a focus on real estate markets, housing policy, and political economy. Prior to Notre Dame, he taught at Indiana University and Western Ontario.
Educated at Stanford University (Ph.D., 2013) and the University of Toronto (B.Com, 2008), his research explores urbanization trends, corporate political influence, democratic accountability mechanisms, and regulatory strategies of firms. Notable studies include analyzing post-pandemic housing market shifts and examining how firms strategically locate investments to influence policymakers.
His work spans interdisciplinary topics such as propaganda’s role in fragile democracies, long-term corporate governance challenges, and stakeholder mobilization tactics by startups. Raiha’s research has been published in leading journals like Real Estate Economics, Business and Politics, and Journal of Politics.
He maintains active collaboration with institutions like the Fitzgerald Institute and engages in policy-relevant studies addressing real estate taxation, electoral accountability failures, and business-government interactions. Current work includes analyzing behavioral responses to housing policies and the strategic lobbying dynamics in emerging markets.
