David Woodward is a Senior Lecturer in Secondary Physical Education and Subject Lead for Secondary Physical Education at the Institute of Education, University of Worcester. He also serves as the PAT lead for the Institute and CPD lead for the Department for Secondary and Further Education (FES). With over ten years of experience as a secondary PE teacher, he has held roles including Director of Sport Specialism and examiner for Edexcel/Pearson GCSE PE. He is an external examiner at Liverpool Hope University and aims to achieve Senior Fellowship of the HEA.

His research focuses on teachers' experiences of teaching Fundamental Movement Skills and pedagogical practices in PE. He actively presents at conferences and publishes on educational topics. Teaching interests include integrating practical coaching methodologies with theoretical frameworks. He holds multiple coaching certifications in rugby, football, basketball, cricket, and softball.
