Judge David W. Lannetti serves as a Senior Lecturing Fellow and adjunct professor at Regent University and William & Mary Law School while concurrently presiding as a Judge of the Norfolk Circuit Court since 2014. Previously, he held substitute judicial roles in General District Court and Juvenile & Domestic Relations District Court for over four years.
Education: Graduated with distinction from the United States Naval Academy (B.S.), earned an M.S. in Management (with honors) from Troy University, and a J.D. from William & Mary Law School (Order of the Coif). Served as executive editor of the William & Mary Law Review and Moot Court Justice.
Research interests focus on legal education, judicial processes, and civil litigation. He has published extensively in legal journals and frequently lectures on legal topics. His career includes over 15 years of civil litigation practice at Vandeventer Black LLP, recognized as a premier attorney with multiple professional honors.
Professional service includes chairing the Virginia State Bar Standing Committee on Professionalism, former VSB Council member, and leadership roles in the James Kent American Inn of Court and Norfolk & Portsmouth Bar Association. Community involvement spans Norfolk Sister City Association, Special Olympics, U.S. Naval Academy, and Boy Scouts of America.
