David Tedford serves as Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance at Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania, where he concurrently conducts the Bloomsburg University Community Orchestra and directs its four-concert season including educational outreach for 1,200+ students annually.
His academic credentials include a DMA from the University of Iowa, MM from Ohio University, and BM from Grove City College, with mentorship under renowned conductors including Kenneth Kiesler and Markand Thakar.
Tedford's research centers on contemporary music programming in collegiate settings, advocating for living composers through initiatives like The Adore Project and And We Were Heard. He pioneered educational programs such as Stringposium for string players and pre-audition workshops, emphasizing pop, classical, and movie music to engage new concert audiences while advancing diversity in orchestral repertoire.
His recognition includes the 2019 International Conductors Workshop & Competition award.
