Jacob Ertl is an Associate Professor of Piano at the Nazareth University School of Music in Rochester, NY, where he serves as Coordinator of Keyboard Studies and Director of the BM in Music Performance program. He is also President of the New York State Music Teachers Association, Chair of the PianoArts Alumni Board, and Visiting Guest Professor of Piano at Shandong Normal University in China. His career spans performance, education, and leadership in the music field.

He has recorded two albums with Eastern Standard Trio, including the world premiere of Fisher Tull’s Piano Concerto, and collaborates with ensembles like Ensemble Alla Balena and Eastman Broadband Ensemble. His students have achieved success in competitions and graduate programs.
Ertl holds piano performance degrees from Oberlin Conservatory (BM) and Eastman School of Music (MM, DMA), studying under Robert Shannon and Nelita True. He organizes outreach initiatives through PianoArts and adjudicates competitions such as Thousand Islands International Piano Competition and MTNA events.
