David Tai-Wei Wu

David Tai-Wei Wu (吳台偉) is a Director and Research Fellow at the Institute of Chemistry, Academia Sinica (since 2021). He previously served as a Professor (2011-2021), Associate Professor (2002-2011), and Assistant Professor (1996-2002) at the Colorado School of Mines, with joint appointments in Chemical and Biological Engineering & Chemistry and Geochemistry Departments. His roles also included Head of the Chemistry and Geochemistry Department (2012-2017) and Associate Director of the Center for Hydrate Research (2009-2014).

  • A.B. in Chemistry, Harvard University (1985, Magna cum laude)
  • Postdoctoral studies at University of California, Santa Barbara (1993-1996) and University of Cambridge (1991-1993)

Research Interests focus on Modern Computational Methods and Statistical Mechanics for energy and materials. His work applies advanced computational techniques to study molecular systems, thermodynamics, and energy-related materials.

Additional Affiliations include Visiting Professor at National Taiwan University (2017-2018) and Visiting Associate Research Fellow at Academia Sinica (2019).
