Dr. David Surrey is a Professor of Sociology, Urban Studies & Anthropology at Saint Peter’s University, where he has served for 37 years. He holds administrative roles including Director of Faculty Development and former Chair of the Urban Studies/Sociology Department (2002-2016). His research focuses on structural discrimination, globalization, and participatory action research, collaborating with educators, tenant organizers, and activists globally.

Research Interests: Dr. Surrey’s work bridges local and global issues, including desegregation, urban history, and migration.
