David Sloan is a Professor in the Department of Economics and Business at Whitworth University, where he has been a faculty member since 2016. He holds a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University, an M.B.A. from Eastern Washington University, and a B.A. in Business Management from Whitworth University.
Dr. Sloan’s research emphasizes servant-leadership, relational communication in supervisor-employee relationships, and the impact of mentorship on employee outcomes. His work bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications, such as exploring geographic brand congruency and the integration of faith in professional ethics. He is a recipient of the 2020 Integration of Vocation in the Classroom Award and has been recognized as one of Whitworth’s Most Influential Professors (2017, 2020).
