David Schäfer serves as an Adjunct Professor for Market Research at the Institute for Wine and Beverage Industry at Geisenheim University, a specialized German institution focused on viticulture, horticulture, and beverage sciences.
Dr. Schäfer's research focuses on the intersection of wine industry marketing and sustainable tourism practices, with particular expertise in:

Currently, Dr. Schäfer leads the "ECO-WINE TOURISM" research project funded by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL), running from October 2023 to September 2026. The research employs a multi-perspective approach examining:
