David Santillan Sanchez

David Santillan Sanchez is a Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering: Hydraulics, Energy and Environment within the School of Civil Engineering, Roads, Canals and Port Engineering at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. He has held this position since 2022 and is also a member of the R&D+i Center for Smart and Sustainable Civil Infrastructure (CIVILis) since 2024.

His research interests span multiple disciplines including Aquatic Science, Environmental Engineering, Geophysics, and Civil and Structural Engineering. These areas reflect his focus on smart and sustainable civil infrastructure development.

As Secretary of the School of Civil Engineering since 2022, he plays a key role in academic administration while maintaining active research participation.
