David S Citrin is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. He joined Georgia Tech in 2001 after positions at Washington State University (1995-2001), the University of Michigan (1993-1995), and the Max Planck Institute for Solid State Research (1992-1993). His research focuses on terahertz technology, nanotechnology, and nonlinear dynamics in semiconductor systems.
- Education: B.A. in Physics from Williams College (1985), M.S. (1987) and Ph.D. (1991) in Physics from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
Research interests include terahertz nondestructive testing, terahertz art analysis, chaos in semiconductor lasers, and high-speed optoelectronic devices. His work on terahertz imaging of 17th-century artworks was highlighted in a Georgia Tech press release.
- Awards: PECASE (2001), ONR YIP (2001), and Friedrich Bessel Prize (Germany).
He coordinates the Nonlinear Optics and Dynamics project at Georgia Tech-CNRS UMI 2958 in Georgia Tech-Lorraine. His grants include funding from the Office of Naval Research and Presidential initiatives.
