Professor David Rubinsztein is a leading figure in molecular neurogenetics at the University of Cambridge, where he serves as Deputy Director of the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research (CIMR) and UK Dementia Research Institute Group Leader. His research focuses on autophagy and its role in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Huntington’s Disease. He has pioneered strategies to upregulate autophagy as a therapeutic approach, identifying novel drugs and pathways.
