Professor Matthew Seaman is affiliated with the Cambridge Institute for Medical Research (CIMR) and the Department of Clinical Biochemistry at the University of Cambridge. His research focuses on endosome-to-Golgi retrieval mechanisms, particularly the role of the retromer complex in neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's, as well as bacterial/viral infections. He supervises PhD students and is available for consultancy.

Research trends in his publications highlight retromer and WASH complex interactions, Rab GTPase signaling, autophagy regulation, and implications in neurodegenerative diseases. His work spans molecular mechanisms of membrane protein sorting, genetic mutations affecting trafficking, and therapeutic strategies targeting these pathways.
