David Robert Thompson is a Lecturer in the Department of Music at Case Western Reserve University, teaching Technology Assisted Music Teaching and Learning. He also founded the Career Tech Music Production program at GlenOak High School in Plain Township, Ohio. His students engage in original music performances, instrument construction, and curriculum-based projects.
Dr. Thompson holds a B.M. in Jazz Studies from Michigan State University, an M.A. in Music Education from Case Western Reserve University, and a Ph.D. in Music Education from Kent State University. His research focuses on intersections between music education, technology, and curriculum design.
He has presented at state/regional conferences and published in Contributions to Music Education and Excellence in Performing Arts Research. His professional development workshops emphasize practical applications of music technology in educational settings.
