David Randall

David Randall is a Professor of Chemistry and Chair of the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at Andrews University. He joined the faculty in 2009 and has led the department since 2019. His academic journey includes a BS from Andrews University (1991), a PhD from UC Davis (1996), and an NIH postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University (1996–?).

His research focuses on physical chemistry of metal atoms in biological systems, computational chemistry, analytical chemistry, and green chemistry. He has mentored numerous student researchers and contributed over 22 peer-reviewed articles to journals like J. Am. Chem. Soc. and Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci.. Prior to academia, he worked at KLA, a Fortune 500 semiconductor company, where he co-authored patents and papers.

Dr. Randall is a member of the American Chemical Society and actively promotes sustainable lab practices. His work bridges academia and industry, fostering global collaborations with colleagues worldwide.
