David Pearson is currently the Assistant Headmaster and teaches Advanced Placement European and U.S. History at Kents Hill School in the USA, while also serving as President and CEO of a Military Academy. He holds a BSc (Econ) in International Politics and Strategic Studies from Aberystwyth University (1987), an MPhil in British Counterinsurgency Doctrine from the University of Aberdeen, and a PGCE in History and IT from Cheltenham and Gloucester College.
His research focuses on military history, counterinsurgency, and British military strategy. His teaching emphasizes international relations and organizational dynamics, reflecting his academic and military background. He has served in the British military for 12 years, including roles with the 1st Battalion The Worcestershire and Sherwood Foresters Regiment, and later transitioned to academia in the U.S.
David credits Aberystwyth University’s faculty, particularly Dr. Ritchie Ovendale, for shaping his intellectual curiosity and career path. His career highlights include leading military operations in the Middle East, academic research, and educational leadership in an independent school environment.
