David P. Waddilove is Associate Professor of Law specializing in English legal history, particularly equity jurisprudence and historical development of property/contract doctrines in the Court of Chancery.
Research examines historical intersections of credit, debt instruments, and security arrangements, tracing foundations of modern finance law. Holds Ph.D. from Cambridge on early-modern mortgages.
Previously held fellowships at Cambridge and Harvard, clerked for Judge Arnold (8th Circuit), and practiced commercial litigation. Teaches Property, Secured Transactions, and Trusts & Estates.
Degrees include J.D. magna cum laude (Michigan), Ph.D. (Cambridge), and theology degrees from Yale and Cambridge.
