John P. Hunt is a Professor of Law at the UC Davis School of Law (King Hall). His research focuses on law and finance, particularly student-loan bankruptcy, municipal bankruptcy, credit rating agencies, and mortgage securitization. He holds a J.D. from Yale Law School and an M.F.E. in Financial Engineering from UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business. Hunt previously served as Research Director of the Law and Finance Program at UC Berkeley’s Center for Law, Business, and the Economy (2008–2009) and worked as a regulatory lawyer, litigator, and credit derivatives analyst.
