David Neil is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Wollongong, affiliated with the School of Humanities and Social Inquiry within the Faculty of Law, Humanities, and the Arts. His research focuses on applied ethics, bioethics, political philosophy, and healthcare policy. Neil has contributed to debates on topics such as the ethics of pharmacogenomics, placebo surgery, and immigration detention systems. He teaches courses including Bioethics (PHIL380) and Political Philosophy (PHIL319), emphasizing critical analysis of human rights, social justice, and ethical dilemmas in medicine and public policy. His work bridges theoretical philosophy with practical applications, addressing contemporary issues like xenophobia, healthcare access, and the moral implications of genetic technologies.
