Brookhaven National Laboratoryمعرفی
David Morrison is a Research Professor in the Physics Department at Brookhaven National Laboratory, serving as sPHENIX Group Leader and Deputy Director of the RIKEN BNL Research Center (RBRC). Previously, he was Co-Spokesperson for the sPHENIX scientific collaboration.
He received his A.B. in Physics from the University of California, Berkeley (1988) and Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1994).
Morrison specializes in relativistic heavy-ion physics with emphasis on jet quenching and heavy-quark production. His current work centers on the sPHENIX experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), which recently began data acquisition after completion of construction and commissioning phases.
His scientific recognition includes election as an APS Fellow by the American Physical Society.
Morrison leads international research efforts through the sPHENIX collaboration and RBRC partnership with RIKEN of Japan. The source material contains no information about graduate student advising or research grants.
His laboratory work focuses on detector systems for the sPHENIX experiment, which investigates quark-gluon plasma properties through high-energy nuclear collisions.
