David McLennan is Professor of Political Science and Director of the Meredith Poll at Meredith College. His research focuses on polling methodology, negative advertising impacts, and barriers to women's electoral success. He founded the Meredith Poll, the only statewide survey focused on women's issues in North Carolina, which provides students with hands-on research experience.
Dr. McLennan frequently serves as a political analyst for national media outlets including C-SPAN, FOX News, and Bloomberg. He authors the Status of Women in North Carolina Politics reports and regularly speaks for organizations like the League of Women Voters and corporate groups.
He holds a Ph.D. in Communication Studies/Politics from University of Texas at Austin, an M.A. in Rhetoric and Communication Studies from University of Virginia, and a B.A. in Economics and Rhetoric from the same institution.
