Dr David McCartney is a Lecturer at St Edmund Hall, University of Oxford, and Director of Graduate Entry Medicine in the Medical Sciences Division. He has held research posts in the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences and is responsible for clinical teaching and supervision of undergraduate medical students since 2011.

His research and teaching focus on clinical medicine, primary care health sciences, and systems medicine, with an emphasis on medical education and graduate-entry programs.
Scientific awards:
- Fellow by Special Election in Clinical Medicine, St Edmund Hall
He oversees the university’s 4-year Graduate-entry Medicine program and contributes to undergraduate courses in Biomedical Sciences and Medicine.
