David Mataix-Cols is a Professor of Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Science at Karolinska Institutet, leading the Obsessive-Compulsive and Related Disorders Across the Lifespan research group within the Department of Clinical Neuroscience. His work focuses on understanding and treating OCD and related disorders such as hoarding disorder, trichotillomania, and tic disorders.
Research interests include genetic/environmental risk factors, long-term medical/socioeconomic consequences, and evidence-based interventions. His group employs epidemiological studies, clinical trials, and register-based analyses. Notable projects include the Nordic OCD consortium and OCDTWIN twin study, as well as developing internet-based CBT interventions.
