David Mabie

David Mabie is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biological Systems Engineering at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. His work focuses on sustainable engineering systems, blending technical and pedagogical expertise to advance interdisciplinary research and education.

• Education: PhD in Biological Engineering, MS in Environmental Engineering, and BS in Biological Systems Engineering, all from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

His research and professional interests span five key areas: (1) Applying physics principles to agriculture and life sciences, (2) Innovations in online and blended STEM education, (3) Thermodynamics and transport processes in biological systems, (4) Environmental sustainability through life cycle assessment in energy systems, and (5) Greenhouse-based specialty food crop production. He also contributes to brewing processing education.
