David Kusi serves as a Visiting Associate Professor at the University of California, Merced, where he teaches literature courses. He maintains a dual academic appointment as an associate professor of British Literature and Contemporary Literary Studies at the University of Bamenda in Cameroon.
His scholarly work focuses on:
- British Poetry traditions and evolution
- Contemporary Literary Theory and Criticism
- Digital Humanities methodologies
Currently, Dr. Kusi is developing significant scholarly projects including book chapters examining William Wordsworth and William Butler Yeats in his work 'Vehicular Powers in Antithetical Romantic and (Post) modern Discourses.' He is also researching aesthetic processes in Black British Literature with focus on Victoria Princewill and Elizabeth Okoh, alongside conducting stylometric analyses of psycho-social trauma in the poetry of W.B. Yeats and T.S. Eliot. His collaborative work with the Centre for the Humanities explores database applications and digital tools for literary scholarship, bridging traditional textual analysis with innovative technological approaches.
Dr. Kusi's research demonstrates a commitment to both canonical British literary traditions and their contemporary reinterpretations, with particular attention to postmodern adaptations and digital methodologies that expand scholarly engagement with literary texts.
