David Kennes

David Kennes is a Research Fellow at the University of Santiago de Compostela, affiliated with the Department of Chemical Engineering in the School of Engineering. His research focuses on microbial biotransformation processes in wastewater treatment systems, particularly under aerobic heterotrophic conditions. He investigates enzymatic activities, cometabolic degradation pathways, and the impact of operational parameters like organic loading rates on micropollutant removal.

His work bridges metaproteomic analysis and applied environmental engineering, contributing to sustainable wastewater management strategies. He has presented at major international conferences such as the 17th International Conference on Environmental Science and Technology (Athens, 2021) and the 5th International Conference on Ecotechnologies for Wastewater Treatment (Milan, 2021).
