David Keene serves as the Kadoorie Professor of Trauma Rehabilitation at the University of Oxford and holds a Senior Research Fellowship at Lincoln College. He is also a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist at the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, bridging academic research with clinical practice. His work focuses on developing and evaluating complex interventions for musculoskeletal injuries, particularly in trauma rehabilitation.
Professor Keene specializes in trauma rehabilitation with particular expertise in musculoskeletal injury management, clinical trial design, and complex intervention development. His research spans orthopaedic rehabilitation across diverse populations including geriatric patients, children with cerebral palsy, and athletes with sports injuries. He has developed numerous rehabilitation protocols for conditions including ankle fractures, patellar dislocations, rotator cuff disorders, and post-surgical recovery.
