Dr. David Jamison serves as Associate Professor of Marketing in the Department of Business Administration at South Carolina State University's College of Business and Information Systems. He has held significant administrative roles including Interim Chair of the Department (2003-2007, 2012-2013) and MBA Program Director (2011-2012), and currently directs international programs and a US Department of Education Business and International Education grant awarded in 2021.
His academic credentials include:

Dr. Jamison's research examines how material culture shapes personal and group identity, analyzes Western consumption models' impacts on traditional societies, and investigates ethnicity's role in consumption behaviors. His interdisciplinary work bridges marketing theory with cultural anthropology, revealing how consumption practices both reflect and construct social identities across global contexts.
He has secured multiple research and travel grants enabling academic presentations across six continents including Canada, Mexico, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, India, and China. Dr. Jamison has also organized and led eleven study abroad programs for business students to South Africa, Botswana, China, Europe, Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, and Kenya, significantly expanding international education opportunities at SCSU.
