David Hurwitz

Professor David Hurwitz is a faculty member in the Department of Civil and Construction Engineering at Oregon State University, serving as Kiewit Center Director. He specializes in transportation safety, human factors, and infrastructure design, leveraging advanced simulators and data tools. His research focuses on user behavior in transportation systems, particularly involving bicycles, pedestrians, and commercial vehicles.

He holds a Ph.D., M.S., and B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst (2009, 2006, 2004). His honors include the ITE Wilbur S.
