David Higgs is the Professor of Organ and Minehan Family Professor at the Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester, where he also serves as Chair of the Organ, Sacred Music & Historical Keyboards Department. A leading concert organist, he performs globally and has inaugurated major instruments such as St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna and the Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas. His career includes collaborations with ensembles like the San Francisco Symphony and Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. Higgs holds degrees from Manhattan School of Music (B.M., M.M.) and Eastman (Performer’s Certificate). He previously held roles at Riverside Church (New York) and San Francisco’s Temple Emanu-El. As a pedagogue, he has mentored students winning international competitions. His recordings include David Higgs at Riverside and collaborations with Eastman faculty on historic organs.
