Brice Gerlach, Ph.D., serves as Artist-in-Residence and Adjunct Professor in organ and conducting at Ave Maria University (AMU), where he conducts the Chamber Choir. He concurrently serves as Director of Music at First Presbyterian Church of Naples, managing worship music, the Chancel Choir, and organ performances on the Ruffatti organ. Previously, he spent 25 years at Artis—Naples as Assistant Director and Accompanist for the Naples Philharmonic Chorus and Youth Chorus.
Education: B.M. in Organ Performance (Eastman School of Music), M.M. in Organ Performance (Indiana University), D.M. in Choral Conducting (Indiana University), and Performer’s Certificate (Eastman).
Professional Focus: Specializes in liturgical music leadership, organ performance, and choral conducting with emphasis on sacred repertoire. Maintains active performance schedule with wife Michele Byrd (soprano) and son Colin Gerlach (violinist).
Notable Roles: Oversees music programs at First Presbyterian Church, directs AMU's Chamber Choir, and maintains residency roles bridging academic and congregational music practice.
