David Haro Monteagudo is a Lecturer in Global Hydrology and Water Security at the Northern Rivers Institute, School of Geosciences, University of Aberdeen. He holds a PhD in Water and Environmental Engineering from Universitat Politècnica de València and has held research roles at institutions including Cranfield University and Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) in Spain.
His research focuses on water risk analysis, climate change adaptation, and decision support systems for water resource management. He specializes in mountain hydrology, drought risk in river basins, and the Water-Energy-Food Nexus framework, with work spanning Ethiopia, Spain, Tajikistan, and Scotland.
Recent publications analyze CMIP6 climate projections, local knowledge integration in hydrological models, and water scarcity impacts on agriculture and Scottish distilleries. His methodological innovations include Graph Neural Networks for reservoir forecasting and cascade modeling approaches for system sustainability.
