David Gibbs-Kneller is an Associate Professor in Private Law at the University of East Anglia’s School of Law. His research focuses on corporate governance, fiduciary duties, contract law, and the rule of law. He holds a PhD from the University of East Anglia (2014) and has published in leading journals like the Law Quarterly Review. Recognized for his empirical work, he received the British Academy Quantitative Skills Award (2015).
Teaching includes undergraduate modules on Contract Law, Company Law, and International Trade Law, as well as postgraduate Comparative International Sales Law. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (2019).
Research emphasizes mixed-methods analysis, contributing to debates on intermediated securities and digital assets regulation. Collaborations include organizing global conferences on corporate governance with institutions like Cass Business School and UNIDROIT. He currently serves as an External Examiner at the University of Southampton and London School of Economics.
Publications span topics like bailment law, contractual terms in corporate governance, and derivative claims. His work bridges legal theory and empirical practice, influencing regulatory discussions nationally and internationally.
