David Gerard is the John R. Kimberly Distinguished Professor of the American Economic System and Associate Professor of Economics at Lawrence University. He joined the faculty in 2009, previously serving as Executive Director of the Center for the Study & Improvement of Regulation at Carnegie Mellon University. His research focuses on risk regulation, energy policy, environmental economics, and climate change. He holds a B.A. in American Studies and Economics from Grinnell College and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Illinois.
