David Garibay

David Garibay is a Professor of Political Science at Université Lumière Lyon 2, affiliated with the Triangle research unit (UMR 5206). He co-leads the PALAPA project on Latin American political participation, focusing on urban management, left-wing movements, and conflict resolution in Latin America. His work spans electoral politics, post-conflict societies, and social movements. Recent publications analyze Bitcoin's legalization in El Salvador, guerrilla transitions, and democratic processes. He advises multiple PhD students and has contributed to major policy discussions through media appearances, including France Culture and RFI. His research bridges academic rigor with real-world policy contexts, emphasizing Latin America's political dynamics.
