Nathalie Dompnier

Nathalie Dompnier is a Professor of Political Science at Université Lumière Lyon 2 and serves as President of the ComUE Lyon Saint-Étienne since June 2024. Previously, she held academic positions at the University of Avignon, IEP Grenoble, and taught in high schools. Her research focuses on electoral practices, political legitimacy, and democratic mechanisms, with notable contributions to studies on electoral fraud, voting technologies, and European election dynamics. She leads the ANR Mosare project and supervises doctoral research on topics like election observation missions and democratic participation in Africa.

Education: Professor at Lyon 2 since 2007, prior roles include associate professor (2000-2002), ATER at Grenoble IEP (2002-2003), and lecturer at Avignon University (2003-2007).

Research Interests: Diverging electoral norms, technical voting devices, and representative democracy. Current work emphasizes democratic evidence transformations through comparative and multidisciplinary lenses, including European integration and post-colonial electoral practices in Africa.

Recent Publications: Focus on gender value gaps, family dynamics, and participatory political mechanisms. Recent themes include modernization of voting systems and historical electoral corruption patterns in France.
