David G. García, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Education and History at UCLA. His interdisciplinary research documents Chicana/o community histories of education through three primary lenses: Chicana/o teatro as public revisionist history, Hollywood's urban school genre pedagogy, and educational segregation histories. His award-winning book Strategies of Segregation examines racial architecture in Oxnard, California (1903-1974), unearthing systemic inequalities through archival research and oral histories.
