David Foster

David Foster is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Florida State University. He holds a PhD from UC Berkeley, supported by an NSF Graduate Research Fellowship. His research focuses on American political institutions, particularly the unilateral presidency and housing policy. Using quantitative methods and formal theory, he examines executive orders' influence channels and elite messaging effects. He has taught at Florida State, Kenyon College, and UC Berkeley, covering topics like game theory, political analysis, and public policy. His work has been published in Journal of Politics, Journal of Political Institutions and Political Economy, and others.
