Dr. David Devanny is an Associate Professor and Acting Head of Subject for Writing and Journalism at Falmouth University. He holds a PhD in Digital Literatures & Poetry Publishing (2019) and specializes in digital storytelling, creative writing pedagogy, and contemporary poetry. His research explores intersections of technology, publishing, and Gothic studies. He is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has organized conferences such as Dark Economies and Haunted Landscapes.

Research focuses on VR, AI, and digital education. Notable achievements include the New Media Writing Prize (2013) and exhibitions at venues like the Hatton Gallery and Terre Verte Gallery. He co-directs the Grammarsow Residency and serves as a trustee of the Charles Causley Trust.
Teaches on Creative Writing, English, and Journalism programs. Supervises four PhD students in digital storytelling and Gothic studies. Active in literary communities through residencies and collaborative installations.
