David Daane-Boiler was a Lecturer in Hotel Management at Hotelschool The Hague from 1982 until his retirement in 2007. He contributed to curriculum design, introducing subjects like Safety & Security and Social Hygiene, and managed practical education programs. He oversaw the Skotel facility, initially located within the school, and later its relocation. His career included roles as a hotel manager and international hospitality consultant.
Before academia, he held leadership positions at prestigious hotels, including the Hotel van der Werff (Schiermonnikoog), Dubai International Hotel (during its pre-opening phase), and Rotterdam Hilton. He played a key role in restarting Tanzania Hotel Training School (1973–1976) and modernizing hospitality education in Mongolia and Azerbaijan through collaborative programs.
Daane-Boiler authored foundational textbooks: *Hotel Management*, *Front Office Management*, and *Safety & Security* (all published by SVH/HTH). He actively participated in industry conferences, representing HTH at CHRIE in the US and attending Cornell’s Summer Course. His work bridges practical hotel management innovations with academic education.
