David D. Celentano, ScD '77, MHS '75, is a Professor and Charles Armstrong Chair in the Department of Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University, with joint appointments in International Health, Health, Society and Behavior, and Medicine (School of Medicine). His career spans over four decades, focusing on behavioral and social epidemiology, particularly in HIV/AIDS, STIs, and substance abuse.

Recent work examines hormonal contraception's impact on HIV seroconversion and opioid substitution therapy for drug users.
