Jim Aizire

Jim Aizire, MD, PhD, MHS is an Associate Research Professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Department of Epidemiology. His research focuses on infectious diseases, particularly HIV and hepatitis B virus (HBV), with emphasis on clinical trials, maternal-child health, and epidemiological studies in sub-Saharan Africa. Dr. Aizire leads the PEPFAR PROMOTE study examining the long-term effects of antiretroviral therapy (ART) in women and their children. His work addresses HIV-related comorbidities like hepatocellular carcinoma, bone health in breastfeeding women, and unintended pregnancy prevention.
