His research focuses on the intersection of comparative politics and international relations, particularly Latin American public opinion and elite rhetoric towards global powers like the United States and China. He explores post-conflict economic development, regional integration in developing regions, and the application of simulations and debates in teaching international affairs. His publications analyze anti-Americanism, political psychology, and soft power dynamics.
Cupery’s work combines empirical research with experiential learning, integrating classroom instruction with on-site cultural and historical exploration. His travel courses emphasize preserved history, cultural diversity, and natural beauty, with highlights including Machu Picchu and the Galapagos Islands.
David Cupery’s publications span 2013-2023, focusing on comparative politics, international relations, and public opinion dynamics. Key trends include anti-Americanism in Latin America, cross-national mass attitudes toward former colonizers, and the interplay between elite rhetoric and public sentiment in geopolitical contexts.
In the classroom, Cupery prioritizes skill development in public speaking, writing, research, and critical thinking, often using simulations and structured debates. He has mentored students through collaborative research projects while maintaining his own scholarly output.
