David C. Lamberth is a Professor of Philosophy and Theology at Harvard Divinity School (HDS), Harvard University. He joined the faculty in 1997 as an Assistant Professor and served as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs (2000–2003). He currently chairs the Master of Theological Studies program and has led university-wide initiatives, including a 2010–2011 library reform effort for Harvard’s Office of the Provost. His research focuses on pragmatism, William James’s philosophy, and intersections of neuroscience with religious thought. He holds a BA from the University of North Carolina, and AM/PhD from Harvard University.

Research emphasizes theological-philosophical interplay in American and continental traditions, including methodological frameworks in religious studies, pluralism, and the cognitive science of religion.
