Jon D. Levenson is the Albert A. List Professor of Jewish Studies at Harvard Divinity School (HDS), affiliated with Harvard University since 1988. He holds a BA from Harvard College and MA/PhD from Harvard University. His research focuses on Hebrew Bible exegesis, Jewish-Christian theological dialogues, and the interplay between premodern interpretation and modern criticism. Major themes include ancient Judaism’s development, medieval Jewish commentaries, and 20th-century Jewish theological thought.
