David Buetti is a Part-Time Adjunct Professor in the Department of Social Work at the University of Ottawa’s Faculty of Social Sciences. His research focuses on evaluation capacity-building in health and social services, with expertise in population health, program evaluation, and community health. He holds a PhD in Population Health (candidate), an MSW in Social Work and Health (2012), and a B.Sc. in Psychoeducation (2009). He is affiliated with organizations such as Réseau Francophone des Évaluateurs Émergents and the Canadian Evaluation Society.
His educational background includes a Master of Public Administration (candidate) in Program Evaluation and a strong foundation in interdisciplinary health sciences. Research interests span program evaluation methodologies, health inequities, LGBTQ+ health, and feminist activism in academic settings. His publications address topics like neighborhood effects on health, social exclusion of gay men, and climate change’s impact on health disparities.
Publications from 2016–2018 highlight his focus on marginalized populations, including children in abusive households and LGBTQ+ communities. His work emphasizes intersectional approaches to health research and policy, with contributions to journals like Public Health and Journal of Interpersonal Violence.
Buetti’s affiliations include the Social Sciences of Health Interventions Research Group (SSHIRG) and the Ordre des administrateurs agréés du Québec. He teaches Health Promotion and Prevention, emphasizing practical skills for evaluation and project management in social work.
