Dr. David Bromwich is a Research Professor in the Department of Geography at The Ohio State University and leads the Polar Meteorology Group at the Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center. His research focuses on polar weather and climate, atmospheric reanalysis, and climate change impacts in high latitudes.
He directs the Arctic System Reanalysis project, which reconstructs the coupled atmosphere-land-ocean-sea ice system of the Arctic. His work investigates tropical-polar climate connections, Antarctic Peninsula warming events, and cloud processes in polar regions.
Dr. Bromwich has coordinated international initiatives including the Year of Polar Prediction in the Southern Hemisphere (YOPP-SH). His research employs advanced modeling tools like Polar WRF and analyzes data from field campaigns in both polar regions.
